Price lists from other states, [ca. 1980]-[ongoing].

All states license and regulate the sale of alcoholic beverages, but only in eighteen states and one county in Maryland is liquor also sold by the state. Alabama is one of the eighteen states where the state constitution mandates state operated sales. The ABC Board Purchasing Section is authorized to direct the preparation, publication, and distribution of the price lists for the ABC Board. This series consists of copies of price lists received from other states and maintained in the Purchasing Section for reference purposes. Although the layout of these price lists may differ, they usually include code, distillery, brand name, age, proof, size, and price by bottle/case.
